The project coordinator, PEDAL Consulting, presented BUILD project at inspiring InnoBuyer conference: “Procurement of Innovation in 2023: challenges and opportunities” .

More than 60 participants used this perfect opportunity to learn from experts and engage in discussions on the current challenges and opportunities in the field of innovation procurement.

It was also training/capacity building of public buyers which was highlighted in several occasions in the EC’s DG GROW speech as well as in the roundtable debate as one of the main challenges for unleashing the full potential of procurement of innovation. This is exactly where BUILD project will step in to help with training of public procurers, staff exchanges and simulations.

Other important points that came up from the debate were:

• trust is a key element to engage procurers and the involvement of different stakeholders in the process is necessary;
• solutions should be created so that they are not just good and nice, but also fit into the real world;
• suppliers and buyers should be better connected and cross-border aspects taken into account.
  
  

The reverse pitch session was a unique opportunity for attendees to learn about several EU-supported projects and their activities. BUILD project was happy to have a chance to present a taste of what we are doing for attendees.
